McKinsey & Company reported in 2021 that subscription services, including meal kits, experience a churn rate as high as 39% after just six months. This is largely due to the lack of variety and the inflexibility that subscriptions offer compared to the pay-as-you-go options available on platforms like Zomato and UberEats.Given these factors, it’s clear that while a subscription model may offer some benefits, it pales in comparison to the convenience, variety, and flexibility offered by established on-demand platforms.
