SEBI bans YouTuber Ravinda Balu Bharti for investment scam, slaps ₹9.5 crore fine

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has banned Ravindra Balu Bharti, a popular finfluencer on YouTube, and his company from dealing in securities markets until April 4, 2025. SEBI has also imposed a fine of ₹9.49 crore ($1.3 million USD) on them for unlawful gains. Bharti and his associates allegedly earned from an unregistered investment advisory business, targeting inexperienced investors. SEBI found that they were not fully informed about the risks and received incomplete financial disclosures. The regulator has also prohibited them from offering investment advisory services.
