How did boat's brand image go improve because of apple ? Apple has a tagline called " think different" and boat started a marketing campaign on newspaper trolling Apple's tagline. This caused fan wars in social media and everyone was talking about this. While boat tackles lower and mid range products and apple tackles premium segment, they weren't competitors. But since it was compared to a premium brand " Apple " it got it's brand image improved and also got new customers as there was a lot of conversation and debate on this topic. This is how edgy marketing helps you to stand out.
