ESOPS(Employee Stock Ownership Plans). This is something like a employer benefit plan that provides employees with ownership in the company.This Ownership is typically in the form of shares of the company stock. Equity generally refers to Ownership in a company which includes stocks and other forms of ownership,but when it comes it ESOP , here ownership limited to just shares of the company. By making employees shareholders,this fosters a sense of shared responsibility and commitment to the company's long term goals. And there are some tax advantages which is an attractive option for both companies and employees
