SaaS Audit #3: Plain A website demo flow should feel smooth and effortless, after all, it’s often the first real touchpoint with your product. When I reviewed Plain’s website, I came across a few areas where the experience could be made simpler and more reassuring. Sharing them here so other SaaS founders can reflect on their own sites too 👇 [1] Demo flow friction: Clicking “Book a Demo” led me to a setup process asking me to create a workspace and connect Slack/Email. Since I just wanted to book a demo, this felt like an extra, unrelated step that could cause drop-offs. [2] No confirmation email: After submitting my details and clicking “Book your demo,” I didn’t receive any welcome or confirmation email. A quick automated message can go a long way in building trust and reducing uncertainty. [3] Customer proof gap: The website highlights several customers (great!), but the G2 profile currently shows no reviews. Adding even a few reviews can strengthen credibility and social proof. [4] Search visibility: I couldn’t find a Google Business Profile for Plain. While it may feel optional, having one can improve discoverability and brand presence. None of these are deal-breakers, but they do matter. Because when someone is curious enough to book a demo, every extra step or missing reassurance becomes a chance for them to drop off. That’s why I’m running this SaaS Audit series to show how even small website improvements can create a smoother journey for prospects and higher trust for your brand. Because in SaaS, it’s often the little details that turn curiosity into conversion.
