My prediction for 2025: Zomato and Swiggy’s food delivery duopoly will be broken this year 🙌🙌 I woudl have not said so, had I not shifted all my food delivery orders to Magicpin over the last 3 months (a little over that). And I am super sure, I am not the only one - ONDC’s fantastic number proves that, with daily food delivery orders surpassing 2 lakh or so, which is as big as 10% of Zomato or Swiggy’s scale. This is the takeoff point! .. If not for ONDC, those 2 lakh daily orders would have added to the growth of Z/S. But, many like me have simply moved on due to the powerful cocktail of two things. 1> Just as good delivery times and customer support 2> Way lower menu prices - thanks to low single-digit commissions Otherwise, we all know, how restaurants and QSR players put way higher rates on Z/S apps to make up for high 20-25%+ commissions and additional ad spends required 📛📛 .. And I’ll be frank. My first experience with ONDC-based food delivery was sour. In April, I had tried ONDC for the first time, ordering from McDonald’s via Paytm app. The delivery time was 35 mins, but it took about 2hrs. Worse, my requests to cancel received a reply over 3.5hrs after I had already received the order 📛📛 Back then, I had declared this won’t dent Z/S. .. But, my view changed in September. A friend who is a senior executive at Zomato (which owns ~15-16% of Magicpin) told me, that things are heating up now with most of ONDC’s issues sorted in major cities. That led me to try Magicpin in September. And since then, there has been no going back. Because, at least in my part of the city, there are no delivery or support issues any more. In fact, it’s as good as Z/S. That’s a big leap! 🙌🙌 .. Thus, my bet: Once you try this, there is simply no going back. -> And I am super sure, lakhs of users like me having turned regulars is what drove today’s big full-page ad from Magicpin -> This was a war cry, where they confidently boasted about the low prices by wishing Happy 2019 vs Happy 2025 -> Not sure if the prices on the platform are actually as low as in pre-Covid times (2019), but the differential is real And this especially matters in present times when the middle class is seeing savings shrink rapidly. Thus, every penny counts 🙏🙏 All of these factors will ensure that once one leaves the Z/S and gets used to lower prices Magicpin or other ONDC platforms, they will not go back. Best wishes to Anshoo and team magicpin in this pursuit. Cheering for you :) ..

t’s sad to read media’s reporting (read: narratives) on ONDC. Nobody’s using the OFFICIAL DATA which reveals what will be lost, if ONDC doesn’t succeed. Thus, I immersed myself into ONDC’s open data platform. And Consider this: - 41% of retail (non
