Is ONDC Overhyped? Is it a threat or an opportunity? With ONDC aiming to become a one-stop solution for everything from retail to services, is it stretching itself too thin by trying to do it all? In a world driven by private enterprises, can a Public-Private Partnership like ONDC work better? Is its infrastructure a critical step toward transforming retail and services in India, or could it end up as an unnecessary threat by attempting to dominate every sector? Can ONDC stifle innovation and threaten upcoming innovative startups in service sector? ONDC aims to provide more visibility and lower market entry barrier. But what purpose does this interoperability really solve if I can get BigBasket items from JioMart and shop MagicPin via Paytm Mall? Tomorrow i will be able to buy Blinkit photo delivery from Zepto. Isn't it killing the competitive landscape for innovative startups, in the name of democratizing access to digital commerce? What are your thoughts on this initiative?
