India's space sector has witnessed a remarkable growth in the number of startups, increasing from just one in 2014 to nearly 200 by 2024. This surge is attributed to government reforms and increased private investment. By the end of 2023, approximately $233 Mn had been raised by these startups across 30+ deals, demonstrating significant investor interest and confidence in the sector. A key player in this domain is Skyroot Aerospace, which launched India's first private rocket, the Vikram-S, in November 2022. This milestone was a result of the government's space sector reforms and the establishment of the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Center (IN-SPACe) in June 2020. These initiatives have opened the space sector to private companies, allowing them to utilize ISRO's infrastructure and collaborate with the agency.
