Hi Everybody I heard many stories about founders losing employees when they had just started. And later on those employees becomes their competitors. What would you do to avoid these problems from coming? And if they come how would you tackle Also this is my first post here. Would love to connect with you guys
I am myself working in a startup and with 2 years experience I can tell that the major reasons one would leave the company is cause of following reasons : 1. Not valued enough - When an employee feels that he's doing a lot for the company ( they have an emotional attachment to the company ), they expect that their work will be appreciated. They will be heard and they will get an opportunity to grow. But when these things lack, they get hurt. That's why appreciating and giving them the lime light for even the small efforts that they put is very important. A person should never feel left out. He should be made aware that his contribution means a lot to the company. In this way you get the person's human respect for you so later even if he starts his own company, these gestures that you did for him today will get him to synergize with you and your company than compete with you. Next point I will continue in next comment cause I reached word limit 🥲
Firstly congratulations on ur first post. The main reason for the founder loosing their employees is because they are not giving the right value, right guidance, support and value pay to their employees if they sortout this issue employees will never leave them . And we cannot criticising employees becoming competitors bcos everyone have right to grow if not your employ u have some other competitors in ur industry.
If the relationship between the employee and the founder is good and the employee later starts his own business if its not on large scale maybe he can even outsource the work he cant do. Being on good terms with others always helps in business

It's the relation that between founder and employee if they handle them just like boss way then it's a red flag and people have to keep every input in postive way if they don't like it also because In startup every one is important
I would have to know about them well because information is crucial their thinking pattern, analysing pattern, creativity pattern, I have to understand it with their perspective first they have been employee in the company so they know much of things about company so I have to change it second I have to be already prepare for tackling the competition
