I am myself working in a startup and with 2 years experience I can tell that the major reasons one would leave the company is cause of following reasons : 1. Not valued enough - When an employee feels that he's doing a lot for the company ( they have an emotional attachment to the company ), they expect that their work will be appreciated. They will be heard and they will get an opportunity to grow. But when these things lack, they get hurt. That's why appreciating and giving them the lime light for even the small efforts that they put is very important. A person should never feel left out. He should be made aware that his contribution means a lot to the company. In this way you get the person's human respect for you so later even if he starts his own company, these gestures that you did for him today will get him to synergize with you and your company than compete with you. Next point I will continue in next comment cause I reached word limit šŸ„²
