The Subhadra Scheme marks a transformative step by the Odisha Government towards building an inclusive and empowered society for women. Launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 17 September 2024, the scheme ensures direct financial support to women to strengthen their economic independence. Under this program, every eligible woman will receive โน50,000 over five years, distributed as โน10,000 per year in two installments โ on 8th March (Womenโs Day) and Raksha Bandhan. A unique feature of this scheme is the Subhadra ATM-cum-Debit Card, aimed at promoting digital transactions. Top 100 users from each Gram Panchayat/Urban Local Body will earn an extra โน500 incentive annually.
