🚍 Andhra Pradesh Stree Shakti Scheme – Free Bus Travel for Women 🚍 The Andhra Pradesh Government is set to roll out an empowering initiative called the Stree Shakti Scheme, starting 15th August 2025. This major step is part of the TDP-led government's Super Six Promises aimed at enhancing the mobility, safety, and independence of women, girls, and transgender citizens across the state. Under this scheme, eligible travellers will be able to enjoy free travel in select buses operated by the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC). The move is expected to benefit millions of passengers, especially those who rely on public transport for work, education, healthcare, and other daily needs. Who Can Travel for Free? The scheme is open to: Women of all age groups Girls (school-going and college students included) Transgender individuals There is no income restriction – the only requirement is that you carry a valid ID proof while travelling. How It Works Travelling under the Stree Shakti Scheme is simple: Board any eligible APSRTC bus covered under the scheme. Show your valid government-issued ID (such as Aadhaar, Voter ID, Student ID, etc.) to the conductor. Receive a Zero Fare Ticket (ZFT) – proof of your free travel. Enjoy your journey without paying a single rupee for the ticket. Buses Covered Under the Scheme The scheme covers the most commonly used categories of APSRTC buses: Pallevelugu Ultra Pallevelugu City Ordinary Metro Express Express These categories ensure that both rural and urban commuters benefit from the program. What’s Not Covered Some premium and special services are excluded from the scheme, such as: Air-Conditioned (AC) buses Luxury bus services Interstate buses Package tour services This means the free travel benefit is focused primarily on regular daily transport rather than long-distance or premium trips. Why This Scheme Matters The Stree Shakti Scheme is more than just a free ride. It aims to: Boost women’s participation in education and employment by removing travel cost barriers. Enhance mobility for rural women who often face limited transport access. Support transgender communities with inclusive benefits. Improve safety and comfort by increasing the number of women using public transport. Impact Expected The initiative is anticipated to significantly reduce transportation expenses for families, particularly those with multiple women and girl children. It will also likely lead to higher usage of APSRTC services, strengthening the public transport network. 📢 Spread the Word If you or someone you know can benefit from this scheme, make sure to share this information. Awareness is the first step toward empowerment, and together, we can ensure that no eligible traveller misses out on this opportunity. 📎 Read full details here :- https://govtschemesindia.com/andhra-pradesh-stree-shakti-scheme/
