📌India’s Online Gaming Ban: Solving Nothing, Creating Chaos. The government just banned real-money online games fantasy sports, rummy, poker, everything. Overnight, a ₹20,000 crore tax-paying industry employing 200,000+ people and attracting ₹25,000 crore in FDI has been thrown into uncertainty. Here’s the irony: banning doesn’t stop demand. it only pushes it underground. We’ve seen this before. Bihar’s alcohol ban didn’t end drinking; it just created a thriving black market. Worse, people ended up consuming unsafe liquor, and lives were lost. The same risk now looms over gaming. Do we really believe millions of players will just give up? Or will they quietly shift to shady offshore platforms, with zero safeguards, no consumer protection, and not a single rupee in tax revenue for India? The truth is, the government isn’t protecting citizens it’s pushing them into the hands of black-market operators. Instead of prohibition, why not regulation? ✅ Licensing for operators ✅ KYC & age checks ✅ Spending limits ✅ Responsible gaming norms ✅ Steady tax revenue A smarter system protects players and strengthens the economy. A ban does neither
