The remaining USD 1.5 million was shared between the two players. In total, Gukesh earned about USD 1.35 million, which is roughly Rs 11.34 crore.

Our tax rules are really broken. first of all gov don't properly support any sport (other than cricket) and also charges tax on the winning amount! like atleast the atheletes and gamers should get tax concession
