What's a SWF? → SWFs are state-owned investment funds that manage a nation's excess reserves (Funds often originate from sources such as surplus revenues from commodity exports, oil & gas). An SWF would give the US Gov significant financial power to pursue controlling stakes or full buyouts of companies. Case in point: Elon Musk's $44 B Twitter acq., facilitated by Qatar Investment Authority. India also has its own SWF→ 'National Investment and Infrastructure Fund', aim of investing in infrastructure and related sectors (Inv. in Ather Energy, $71 M+) A BCG report predicts a solid increase in SWFs and Public Pension Funds(PPFs) to private markets

The 6% CAGR in AUM is nice, but the real takeaway is who’s deploying that money. SWFs are patient capital. That’s what startups, climate infra, and deep tech need. It’s ironic that the "slowest" money might be the only thing that can fuel long-term innovation.
