What's a SWF? → SWFs are state-owned investment funds that manage a nation's excess reserves (Funds often originate from sources such as surplus revenues from commodity exports, oil & gas). An SWF would give the US Gov significant financial power to pursue controlling stakes or full buyouts of companies. Case in point: Elon Musk's $44 B Twitter acq., facilitated by Qatar Investment Authority. India also has its own SWF→ 'National Investment and Infrastructure Fund', aim of investing in infrastructure and related sectors (Inv. in Ather Energy, $71 M+) A BCG report predicts a solid increase in SWFs and Public Pension Funds(PPFs) to private markets
