I heard you are a startup founder? Here's how you can be the most confident person in the room. 1] Not giving a d*ck Make sure to leave your d*ucks at home when you step out. The lesser you care about what other's think of you, the lesser the performance pressure and the lesser the overthinking. The idea is to feel relaxed when you talk because it puts you in a position to answer from a present mind. You not only feel authentic but even the energy that you exude is more inviting. 2] Body language Every person, whenever they feel nervous, they have a tell. A change in their body language or a fidget that makes them feel safe. It could you tapping your heels, rocking back and forth or touching your neck. Identify what the TELL is for you and counter it. For instance, if its tapping your heels, keep your foot flat on the ground, if its touching your hands as far as always as you can from your body while making gestures. OPPOSE your TELL and you will FEEL confident. Good posture is key to appearing confident. Lastly, pull your shoulders back and stand straight. 3] Priming Be it workouts or interactions, warm ups are crucial to optimize performance. That's where PRIMING comes in. You walk into a party or a networking event and see an Jeff Bezos. How can you expect to perform your best if the most important approach of your day is also first. You won't be in the FLOW of speaking your mind. That's why START by PRIMING yourself. introduce yourself or have a small talk with atleast 3-5 people on your way to the event. It could be the cab driver, a stranger near the venue or even a cold call. Get into the Flow state of COVERSING and PRIME yourself. 4] Stillness We tend to get jittery and flimsy with our gestures when we feel nervous. It's normal, but there's a way to deal with this and ground yourself. SLOW DOWN. Practice moving in slow motion whenever you are making any movement with your body or hands. Do it with intent and slow down the pace of the movement to ensure that it is actually being done by you its not your body going on autopilot. Still body, still mind. 5] Eye Contact Make sure you have strength in your gaze. Hold brief eye contact with everyone when you walk into a room. Scan the room and don't lower your gaze especially when its coming from a place of feeling intimidated or insecure. There are 2 types of people - introverts and extroverts but some are ambiverts.
