Yes madam fires those employees who were stressed Yes Madam Layoffs Indian organizations are searching for excuses to conduct layoffs innovatively due to increased job losses in companies. Shockingly, a salon-at-home startup called Yes Madam has reportedly fired employees over their responses to a stress questionnaire. This move has attracted a lot of criticism and has left many people with questions about how employees are treated in Startups. Yes madam fires employees: SURVEY Yes Madam conducted an internal survey to assess employee stress levels. Employees who reported being stressed were allegedly let go. This controversial decision came to light after an email from the HR Manager, Ashu Arora Jha, went viral. The email confirmed the termination of employees who disclosed stress in the survey. The startup’s actions have left many shocked, with several accusing the company of exploiting a tool meant for employee well-being. HR surveys are usually confidential and aim to improve workplace conditions. Using such surveys to identify and fire employees is unprecedented and has sparked debate across social media platforms. Critics have labelled the move as unethical and contrary to the principles of employee care. Background of Yes Madam Yes Madam has since been providing home salon services since its establishment in 2016 by Mayank Arya, Aditya Arya, and Akanksha Vishnoi. Currently, the company has 400+ employees and found fame in the third season of Shark Tank India. During the show, it secured ₹1.5 crore in funding from four prominent investors: in return for the 2% stake, Aman Gupta, Vineeta Singh, Peeyush Bansal and Ritesh Agarwal. Despite its success in raising funds and expanding operations, Yes Madam’s recent decision has tarnished its reputation. Public Outrage Over Yes Madam Layoffs The layoffs have ignited outrage on social media, with users expressing their disappointment and disbelief. One user commented, “HR is not your friend,” while another urged employees to “take the company to court for wrongful termination.” The backlash highlights the growing concern over how some companies treat their employees during layoffs. By terminating employees who admitted to feeling stressed, Yes Madam has set a troubling precedent. Many argue that addressing stress-related concerns would have been a more appropriate response.
