Hi I am new here I just want to share my idea and thought of transport fare collecting system 💡The idea: In foreign countries lime UK and Canada we have seen that mostly people do not carry cash as fare for their designation. they used credit/debit card or a card that is issued by local transport company. When a person boards the bus to each their destination they simply place their card on the machine and the software enters the data that person board the bus When the person reach their destination they again put the card on the machine and machine calculated the fare price from the station which the person boarded the bus and the station they have reached by that way it calculated the price and get deducted from the card. I have idea that why should we not start this type of system in india as it is cost effective to transport owner Kindly comment me on this idea about you thought

I don't think this is the right time to implement in india (if you implement in urban countries, it's fair enough. Because: In May 2024, there were nearly 975 million active debit cards in India (even one person might carry 2-4 debit cards). And rural areas don't have bank accounts too... So basically, you need conductors to.. (if there are ticket issures where gov pay them monthly wages, why will gov buy your idea? ).

It's a good idea... But the things is more unemployment will happen as bus conductors may be dismissed from the job... So if there's an alternative for this and along with that if it helps with employment then it would be great

The idea is cool but I see some problems but I see a problem how will the customer know what fare he has to carry for his destination and what if someone didn't not have enough fare and travelled more.

You're right, this could be really cost-effective for transport owners in the long run. The initial investment might be high though. Do you have any thoughts on how transport companies or the government could be convinced to make this investment?

That's a great observation from other countries. I think it could work well in urban areas of India. The tricky part might be implementing it in rural areas or for informal transport like auto-rickshaws. Have you considered how it might be adapted for different contexts?

This system could really reduce the hassle of carrying exact change. I've seen similar systems in some Indian metro cities. The challenge might be extending it to buses and other forms of public transport. What do you think would be the biggest hurdle?
