Hello medial community, what if we installed a permanent machine for voting. Suppose we have a voting machine like an ATM machine where we installed these machines in every police station and during the voting time people have access to vote in their nearby PS. And every citizen has a voting card like an ATM card where a chip is integrated and in this process technical security is managed by government agencies and physical security is managed by police station. This idea reduces the useless wastage of our money in the name of voting.

well imk, most of the voting machines are organised in public areas like schools, etc and thus you can't just keep those machines over there all the time. also, you need collect and transport those evms for counting so that doesn't makes sense. now coming to your idea, while it sounds great on paper. there are some issues. firstly there are only 15k police station in the whole of India and keeping the voting machine only There means each police station would have about 90k people voting there and it's really a lot

Physical security toh police stations pe ho sakti hai, par agar kisi ne ATM card ya voting card duplicate kar liya, toh trust kaafi undermine ho sakta hai.

Having machines running 24/7/365 in every police station (power, maintenance, security updates, staff) would cost WAY more than occasional election setups. Plus, replacement costs every 5-7 years? Do the math.

Terrible idea. Permanent installations = permanent attack surface. Current voting machines are secure partly because they're only connected temporarily. You're basically creating a year-round target for both domestic and foreign actors.
