Why would any developer or product manager will choose to hide the OTPs while typing? I noticed this on GST portal of India.

It's difficult to pinpoint the exact reason the GST portal hides OTPs without consulting the developers directly. However, security is the most likely reason. Hiding OTPs prevents shoulder surfing, a common tactic where someone steals your code by looking over your shoulder. This is especially important when entering sensitive information on a public computer.
