What is the reason that indian startups dont make their codebase Open Source compared to the valley ?

The big problem occurs when a rival takes your code and uses it to build a similar product. People end up choosing their version over yours. This has happened with well-known cases like MongoDB and Elastic (Elasticsearch), and it's not just limited to big players – even smaller open-source companies face the same challenge when competitors adopt their code to create competing products.
