KreditBee’s non-banking financial corporation (NBFC) arm, Krazybee, demonstrated notable growth in the fiscal year ending March 2024 (FY24), nearly doubling its revenue and tripling its profit. Krazybee’s revenues rose to Rs 1,399 crore in FY24 from Rs 717 crore in FY23, according to its standalone annual financial statement sourced by Entrackr. Krazybee, which facilitates personal loans through both its own and third-party NBFCs and banks, saw its interest income surge 2.5X to Rs 1,225.83 crore in FY24. Income from fees and commissions contributed an additional Rs 169 crore, bringing the firm’s total revenue to Rs 1,400 crore in FY24. On the expense side, Krazybee’s total expenses spiked by 80%, rising to Rs 1,132 crore in FY24 from Rs 630 crore in FY23. The amortized cost of loans accounted for 38% of the total expenses, increasing by 74% to Rs 432 crore. Finance costs grew by 43% to Rs 235 crore in the same period. One of the most notable expense shifts was the five-fold increase in employee benefit costs, which jumped to Rs 188 crore in FY24. In contrast, commissions and fees paid to other platforms saw a 24% decline. The 95% jump in scale and controlled expenditure helped Krazybee to multiply its profit by 3X to Rs 200 crore in FY24 from Rs 65 crore in FY23. The company’s Return on Capital Employed (ROCE) improved to 10.5%, while its EBITDA margin stood at 36%. On a unit level, Krazybee NBFC spent Rs 0.81 to earn a rupee of operating revenue in FY24. KreditBee has raised approximately $410 million across various funding rounds. Miko, a Mumbai-based robotics and AI startup known for its interactive robots for children, continued its growth trajectory in the fiscal year ending March 2024, recording a 58% year-on-year increase in revenue. Miko's revenue from operations increased to Rs 358 crore in FY24, from Rs 226 crore in FY23, according to its consolidated financial statement sourced from the Registrar of Companies (RoC). Miko creates personal companion robots focusing on educating and entertaining children from the age group of 5 years to 11 years. The company also allows child-focused content partners and developers to port their content on Miko and monetise via subscription. The company's revenue from product sales (robots) grew 46% to Rs 329 crore in FY24, while income from subscription services of content applications saw an exponential rise — growing 29 times from Rs 1 crore to Rs 29 crore during the same period (FY24). On the expense front, the largest cost center was material cost, which surged 50% to Rs 182 crore. Advertising expenses, which typically reflect brand-building efforts, jumped 79% to Rs 113 crore. Depreciation expenses surged 206% year-on-year to Rs 95 crore in FY24. Employee benefit expenses, however, declined by 23% to Rs 30 crore in the said fiscal year. Overall, the firm’s total expense grew 55% YoY to Rs 505 crore in FY24 from Rs 325 crore in FY23. The company reported a net loss of Rs 120 crore in FY24, up from Rs 108 crore in FY23. Its ROCE and EBITDA margin stood at -85.71% and -8.45%, respectively. On a unit economics basis, Miko spent Rs 1.41 to earn a rupee in FY24. The Mumbai-based firm reported current assets worth Rs 297 crore in FY24 which includes Rs 89 crore in cash and bank balance. According to startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, Miko has raised a total of $76 million till date, having Chiratae Ventures and Yournest as its lead investors. The company's co-founders Sneh Vaswani, Prashant Iyengar and Chintan Raikar together own 19% of the company.

Income from accommodation services (taken on lease and managed properties) formed 95% of the total operating revenue which increased by 22.3% to Rs 104 crore in FY24 from Rs 85 crore in FY23. The rest of the income comes from the sale of products, and subscription services. The company also added Rs 7.22 crore as other income (non-operating) which tallied its overall revenue to Rs 116 crore in FY24 from Rs 94 crore in FY23. Treebo spent 41% of its overall expenditure on employee benefits which increased marginally by 7% to Rs 59 crore in FY24. Its cost and commission surged 70% and 48% to Rs 17 crore and Rs 43 crore in the previous fiscal year. Its cost of materials, legal, technology, traveling, and other overheads took the overall cost up by 22% to Rs 144 crore in FY24 from Rs 118 crore in FY23. The increased advertising and commission costs led Treebo to raise its losses by 16.7% to Rs 28 crore in FY24, compared to Rs 24 crore in FY23. Its ROCE and EBITDA margin stood at -540% and -18.1% respectively. On a unit level, it spent Rs 1.32 to earn a rupee in FY24. The company’s total current assets stood at Rs 34 crore with cash and bank balances of Rs 7 crore in the previous fiscal. According to startup data intelligence platform TheKredible, decade-old Treebo has secured Rs 566 crore (approximately $70 million) in funding from investors including Accor, Elevation Capital, Matrix Partners, and Bertelsmann. The company’s most recent major funding, amounting to $16 million, was raised in June 2021. Treebo competes directly with Bloom Hotels and FabHotels. In FY24, Bloom Hotels saw its operational revenue rise by 73.6% to Rs 250 crore, with a profit of Rs 14 crore. FabHotels recorded Rs 224 crore in operating revenue for FY23 but has not yet filed its FY24 annual report.

Online B2B travel distribution platform Travel Boutique Online (TBO) demonstrated a decent 30.8% Y-O-Y growth during the fiscal year ended March 2024. At the same time, the profits (PAT) of the company spiked with the same pace and surpassed Rs 200 crore in the same period. Travel Boutique’s revenue from operations grew to Rs 1,393 crore in FY24 from Rs 1,065 crore in FY23, its consolidated financial statements accessed from the National Stock Exchange (NSE) show. TBO Tek TBO is a travel distribution platform that extends white-label solutions to travel agents and tour operators. By facilitating air travel, hotel bookings, and tour packages, the platform makes money on commissions on these services. The commission from hotels and packages formed a significant 72.8% of the total operating revenue which increased 40.4% to Rs 1,014 crore during FY24. Commission from air ticketing contributed Rs 347 crore to its operating income. For the B2B travel distribution platform, the cost of providing services for air ticketing, hotels, and packages accounted for 40% of the overall expenditure. This cost grew 41.9% to Rs 471 crore in FY24. Travel Boutique’s spending on employee benefits grew by 21.5% in FY24. Unicommerce, the e-commerce SaaS platform, has announced its results for the first quarter of the ongoing fiscal year. The Gurugram-based company saw a 3% increase in revenue and 22% increase in profit in the first quarter of the ongoing fiscal year as compared to Q1 FY24. Unicommerce’s revenue from operations increased to Rs 27.4 crore in Q1 FY25, from Rs 26.5 crore in Q4 FY24, its audited financial statements sourced from National Stock Exchange (NSE) shows. For background, its operating revenue increased by 15% to Rs 103 crore in the last fiscal year (FY24) from Rs 90 crore in FY23. Unicommerce offers integrated e-commerce enablement SaaS solutions including inventory, return, and omnichannel management. Besides India, Unicommerce operates in Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, UAE & Saudi Arabia among others. Unicommerce spending on employee benefits, server hosting, finance, legal, and other overheads took the firm’s overall cost to Rs 24.2 crore in Q1 FY25 from Rs 23.9 crore in Q4 FY24. The modest increase in controlled expenditure helped Unicommerce to grow its profits by 22% to Rs 3.5 crore in Q1 FY25 from Rs 2.87 crore in Q4 FY24. On a unit level, it spent Rs 0.88 to earn a rupee in Q1 FY25. The Gurugram-based firm had launched an IPO of Rs 276 crore, open to the public from August 2 to August 6, with a price band of Rs 102-108 per share. Unicommerce’s popularity was evident in its oversubscription rate, which soared over 168 times. The firm is currently trading at Rs 221.97 (as of the end of August 30) with a market capitalization of Rs 2,273 crore (approximately $274 million).
