Phase 1 (2024): The Months Where Nothing Sold and Everything Was Built The first two months on Amazon were quiet. -No sales. -No orders. -No excitement. And that was intentional. Before launching products, we decided to understand the actual game we were stepping into. Because rushing products live without a plan doesnโ€™t create momentum it creates confusion. What We Did Instead of Launching -We didnโ€™t chase early wins. -We focused on groundwork. The first thing we realised was uncomfortable but obvious: -Our product images werenโ€™t good enough. -It wasn't bad but not competitive. So we paused and fixed it. We worked closely with designers to improve product imagery, Backgrounds, angles, clarity everything had to communicate value instantly, Images were rebuilt to match how buyers actually scan listings Then came discovery, Understanding Keywords and Competition. Instead of guessing keywords, By Analyzing the data we studied: -Top competitors -Their positioning -The language customers actually responded to We identified: -Keywords that mattered -Keywords we could realistically compete on -Keywords that were irrelevant noise -Listings were rewritten around intent, not volume. What We did:- -This wasnโ€™t SEO for the sake of SEO. -It was about relevance. -Packaging Wasnโ€™t an Afterthought -Packaging was treated as part of the product. We improved it so: -Expectations matched reality -Returns could be reduced later -Brand trust could be built early Everything we fixed here saved us pain later. What Those โ€œZero Salesโ€ Months Gave Us Those two months taught us more than quick sales ever could. We learned: -Where we were weak -What the market expected -How far competitors had already raised the bar Most brands panic when there are no sales. -We used that silence to build. -2024 wasnโ€™t about speed. -It was about preparation. And this was only Phase 1. Next: Phase 2 where the first sales, and the moment the market started giving us real signals. (Follow along.) Growth followed discipline and Strategical planning. Iโ€™m now opening a small WhatsApp community where I break down this thinking for founders building on Amazon. No courses. No agency pitching. Just execution and clarity. At Lapicart - we were on the verge of raising funds - 2 angels were ready and we got the draft of the term sheet - but we backed out! Yes it's unusual but here's the reason why- 1. The equity demand was too high - above 20% and this is our first seed

It wasnโ€™t the audience. It wasnโ€™t the algorithm. It was the content. A D2C brand came to us thinking their targeting was broken. Their Meta ads werenโ€™t converting โ€” CPMs were up, clicks were down, sales were flat. Their solution? Increase budget. Ou
