Hello brother belief ≠ truth Define culture? If it's mere rituals, avoid them ASAP. As sati pratha was also a ritual and culture. Just because something WORKS for someone doesn’t make it universally valid. READ THIS AGAIN If you want to go back, go back to Upanishads; not puraans/stories/smritis; they are as good as WhatsApp forwards.. The Upanishads teach us to ask, NOT assume - except this, all is social conditioning dear. Also, please check my other replies in this thread.

I agree with you that belief ≠ truth. But at the same time, belief ≠ scam/bogus either. Culture is not just about rituals it’s also about identity, continuity, and meaning for people. While some rituals (like sati) were harmful and needed to be abolished, not everything that comes under culture can be dismissed in the same way. Just because astrology or traditions may not hold “universal” truth doesn’t mean they hold no value at all. For many, astrology acts as guidance and gives direction in life. As you said, universal validation is different but personal or cultural relevance cannot be denied either. Upanishads teach us to question, but they also emphasize respecting diversity in paths and experiences. So yes, questioning is necessary, but equally, respecting another person’s faith and cultural practice is important too.
