I don't believe to give equity, what if all the things are done, that 26% stake or less ( you agree upon ) will be considered as dead equity as you will get no real value in future. instead agree on the clauses that you will pay the service cost as part of profits till the consideration is completed.

It doesn’t work both ways my friend. Either it should be equity or paid service. If he wasn’t taking any charges to build the tech for you, equity could be on the table but since this is not the case, it’s not recommended. I have personally tied up with startups which couldn’t afford to build the tech or didn’t want to invest in tech, and got them delivered including ongoing digital marketing without any cost but an equity. Hope this real life perspective helps.

You should write down all the works in your business and the work your partner is going to do and then decide equity as per work and capital , like what he deserves ......

i would prefer just dilute it with the money along with shares. even if they have the experience you are matching with tech giants so give them a max 15% even the shark tank investors pay hundred of thousands of dollars for just small as 5 to 7% learn negotiation. first say the equity so low that it feels stupid to accept then after trying to make them agree at the same price you said them for three time then before they say they want more or they are going just gave them a reasonable equity it will create a brain cognation in their subconscious mind that will help you to get them agree near the number you said
