It doesnโ€™t work both ways my friend. Either it should be equity or paid service. If he wasnโ€™t taking any charges to build the tech for you, equity could be on the table but since this is not the case, itโ€™s not recommended. I have personally tied up with startups which couldnโ€™t afford to build the tech or didnโ€™t want to invest in tech, and got them delivered including ongoing digital marketing without any cost but an equity. Hope this real life perspective helps.
