Because the alternatives often cost ₹100–₹150 for the same distance, while an e-rickshaw charges only ₹20. Unfortunately, e-rickshaws offer little safety or weather protection, and a 30-minute ride can leave your back and hips aching. On top of that, drivers still earn impressive margins: so I deside to building an affordable electric car designed specifically for short-distance travel. Just to clarify — This EV is not a personal-use car like Tata Nano. It’s a commercial passenger vehicle built for daily use like: ✅ Office goers ✅ Students ✅ Metro/bus last-mile riders It’s designed to replace e-rickshaws — same fare price, but with better safety, comfort, AC, and silent rides. Think of it like a mini EV taxi-pod, not a family car. This vehicle runs 100+ km on a single charge and carries 7 passengers per ride, not 1 family. One-time cost = ₹4 lakh, Daily running cost = ₹100, Earnings = ₹2,000 – ₹3,000/day. This is about upgrading local mobility, not creating another Nano.
