From Poverty to Coffee Empire โ Howard Schultz Howard Schultz grew up in a poor housing complex in Brooklyn, New York. His father was a truck driver with low income and no job security. Howard often saw his family struggle to make ends meet. Despite the hardship, he earned a football scholarship to college and later worked for a small coffee shop called Starbucks (back then, they only sold coffee beans). After visiting Italy and seeing the cafรฉ culture there, he had a big visionโto turn Starbucks into a coffeehouse chain where people could sit, relax, and connect. The founders didnโt agree with his idea, so he left and started his own coffee shop. Eventually, he bought Starbucks and turned it into the global coffee empire we know today. Lesson: Your background doesnโt define your future. Big dreams, hard work, and courage to take risks can change everything.
