"𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗡𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗼 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗶𝗶 (𝗕𝘆 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁)" 𝗜𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟬𝟭, 𝗡𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗶𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁. Sony's PlayStation 2 dominated gaming. Microsoft's Xbox entered with brute force. Analysts predicted Nintendo would become 𝗮 𝘁𝗼𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆. Then, engineer 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝘆𝗼 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗱𝗮 made a bizarre discovery... While testing a handheld gyroscope, he realized: → 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 could intuitively swing it like a tennis racket → 𝗡𝗼𝗻-𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀 reacted faster than hardcore players → 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 used it for physical therapy This became the 𝗪𝗶𝗶 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗲—and it changed everything. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵: → Sold 100M+ units (outsold PS3 & Xbox 360 combined) → 60% buyers were first-time gamers (grandparents, moms, kids) → Created the $15B casual gaming market 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗶𝘂𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝘁: 1. Blue Ocean Strategy → Ignored competing on graphics, targeted non-gamers instead 2. Price Anchoring → Sold at 249 (100 cheaper than rivals) despite lower specs 3. Cultural Trojan Horse → Positioned as "family entertainment," not "video games" 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗰𝗸𝘄𝗮𝘃𝗲: ➡️ Sony and Microsoft scrambled to copy motion controls (Kinect, Move) ➡️ Mobile gaming exploded (Angry Birds, Candy Crush) ➡️ Nintendo's stock 10x'd in 5 years 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻: Disruption happens when you 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗳𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀 and create a 𝘄𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁.
