Co-Building a VC Fund in Public: Day 24 (No Investors? No problem!) “I have this idea, but I do not know any investors.” I hear this from many early-stage founders. Honestly, it is a real challenge. And I do not have a full-proof solution for it. But,... --------- Most founders are not born with massive connections and powerful networking circles. Most of them are building it without elite degrees or an investor-studded LinkedIn network. So, what should you do? I certainly do not have a formula for this, but here is what I have seen work (and probably what I would do if I were in your shoes): Let us start with the product: Before thinking about all this, build something real. It does not have to be perfect, but it should work. Even a prototype or MVP goes a long way Focus on the message over noise: A well-prepared 20-slide pitch deck usually outshines a 50-page business plan. You will need clarity Make your way into the room through people: You might not know any investors, but maybe you know someone who knows an investor. Reach out. Ask for feedback instead of funding Consider working at a startup or joining an accelerator: It is one of the most organic ways to learn how things work behind the scenes, meet the right people, and slowly build your network Do your homework: Not every VC is right for every type of idea. Spend time doing your research and finding the ones who can actually invest in what you are building, and then reach out with a purpose. I am not saying it will be easy, it is not. But it is also not impossible. At OG Capital, we believe in co-building with founders from day zero. We partner with early and growth-stage startups in high potential sectors like consumer and enterprise solutions. We work hands-on with founders, helping build businesses that aim for 10x returns, grassroots impact, sustainability, and gender diversity. So, if you have a bold idea and the grit to build something real, feel free to reach out. You do not need a perfect pitch, just a clear vision and willingness to hustle. However, I have seen founders use innovative methods to get the first meeting. What innovative method have you used? We continue to invest and co-build companies at Ortella Global Capital - OG Capital, India's only fund that co-builds companies with Apurva Beniwal, Gaurav Verma and Rajvardhan Mohite. #startups #founders #venturecapital #ortellaglobal #ortella #ortellaglobalcapital #ogcapital #cobuilding
