This is just another example of how originality in design is dead. Everyone copies everyone else. Remember when Instagram changed from that vintage camera icon to the minimal gradient? Within months, every app was using the same purple-orange gradient. Then came the "flat design" wave where everything became simplistic. Now it's this black void aesthetic. In 6 months, some major app will launch with a completely different style, and suddenly everyone will pivot to that. Silicon Valley is just a giant exercise in design FOMO.
