This is what we call dedication! So In 2012, 19-year-old Eric Simons was working on ClassConnect, his education startup. However, he was completely broke. But Then he discovered an awesome hack to live for free! His startup had previously been accepted into K12, an incubator program hosted by AOL. What actually happened was that even after the program ended, his keycard which gave acces to office still worked! And the office was equipped with a gym, free food, couches, and even a shower. Thus, Eric would work until everyone left the office and then sleep on the couches. In the morning, he would head to the gym and then start working again. Seeing him work, everyone assumed he was an employee and also praised his dedication. For two months, he lived there unnoticed—until a security guard finally caught on. But given his dedication, even AOL didn’t sue him, they just kicked him out. Still, during those two months, he managed to raise an additional $50,000 in funding and eventually sold his startup. Now he is working on StackBlitz, an IDE startup valued at over $700 million!
