You might not know him, but I am sure you have used his product You may not recognise him, but I am confident that his product has linked millions. This man is from China and he transformed the way we communicate. This is the Story of Eric S. Yuan He is the FOUNDER & CEO AT ZOOM VIDEO COMMUNICATIONS, INC. Eric has a girlfriend and he used to travel a long distance to see his girlfriend in a very congested train. He did not like that! So he devised a simple plan to speak with his lover while remaining at home! Many of us think the concept is simple, yet it all started in 1987, when Eric was in college. As a result of the frustation, Eric had the concept for video conferencing software. After listening to Bill Gates' lecture, Eric saw the actual potential of the internet. He, too, realised that he wanted to work in this sector and left his partner. The biggest issue arose when he discovered that China is still unable to bear the internet. Therefore he made his life biggest decision- he moved to silicon valley Eric relocated to the United States and settled in San Jose, California. He spoke very little English and joined WebEx, the same WebEx that we no longer use. Eric, who is an excellent developer, performed admirably in WebEx and was promoted to a higher position. Cisco noticed the potential of WebEx at the time and purchased it for $3.2 million USD in 2007. Now, Eric was dissatisfied with Cisco's management and chose to resign; when he resigned, 50+ people followed, demonstrating the power of a strong influencer. Eric obtained $3 million USD after quitting his employer and began working on the software of his dreams - a user-friendly video conferencing application. Our Favourite Zoom was in the Building stage from here! Zoom was so fast in scaling with very little bugs that now they were ready to leave WebEx behind in terms of revenue. In 2017 Zoom became a Unicorn! Everything was OK until the epidemic struck. The pandemic aided zoom, but few are aware that they were short of employees in 2019. But yes as the wording goes time is the most important tool, zoom is a practical example for us! Coming back to Eric, he is an avid basketball fan, Eric attends his children's games and counted Golden State Warriors player Andre Iguodala as an investor. Eric loved reading the stories of HP, Apple etc. From the very start he was a great reader and observer of tech. We all know the importance of Zoom and what it has done to us during pandemic. Eric future vision with Zoom is quite large as he says that an effective way of communication is still hidden! What do you think what could be this communication?
