Can someone explain why these Qcom food delivery startups like Swiggy and zepto are still in loss? Are they faking the results. They are charging high amount on food delivery + surcharge + delivery. I don't understand it

Losses in paper and actual losses are 2 different things, and No they are not faking it. You can structure your financials to stretch your loss before you show profits.

Swiggy and Zomato are publicly listed. They undergo rigorous audits. No chance to cook the books. Zepto is planning for an ipo and recently undergone an audit too.

They are exactly charging high to become a profitable company, which most will become, if it’s high for you, meaning the surcharge, and you avoid it, then it’s simply not for you, but there is a huge market based out of gratification

You're absolutely right. With the crazy surcharges, delivery fees, and inflated food prices, it’s mind-boggling how Swiggy and Zepto are still not profitable. Something doesn't add up

📌My question is how are they running at a loss?. They are squeezing the delivery people by cutting their salaries. Yesterday there was a huge protest by the delivery people all over Kerala over the salary cut. I am still confused how these people are still running at a loss. Why are investors still pouring money into these qcoms

Both have struggled with profitability due to steep marketing expenses, logistics, and restaurant commissions. Zomato became EBITDA positive recently, but barely.
