Lake Maithon in Asansol is one of the largest tourism zones of West Bardhaman. Every year it attracts thousands of tourists. In order to give boost to tourism, a proposal is given to the West Bengal Tourism department to construct a ropeway in Maithon. Plans are underway to beautify the zones near banks & construct cottages at selected locations.
