Heard about Old monk(The monk that doesn't sold Ferrari)? A time ago, It was a 3rd largest rum manufacturer in the world and most celebrated rum at our country at early 60s. They sold over 8 Million per year consistently whereas their competitors only managed to sell 3 million cases per year But what shocks me is, This 'OLD MONK' Brand has been this successful without even spending a single rupee in marketing. While Deeping down, I found some reasons why old monk is successful without even focusing in marketing. So customer felt very privileged of becoming a loyal customer of old monk. 4 - Pricing - At the early independence stages, in India the raw materials required for rum had huge supply over demand. So Old monk able to manufacture their rum and sell it at very affordable cost which made accessible to more peoples. 5 - Packaging - This is considered as underrated reasons, But old monks bottles are very unique and will give a premium looking feel and also even used for after purposes like Lamps, pot or even for showcase 6 - Word of mouth - Because of these 5 top reasons, People began to do marketing on behalf of the company by spreading words about the brand and it's tasteful drink. Which helped them a lot to take a pressure of to indulge in marketing. Small Advice for business owners, You would have been heard a saying that, "Good marketing can sell bad products". Yes, its partially true, But what you guys are missing is creating a brand identity among consumers, If consumers don't trust or buy from you anymore because of bad experiences, You will soon be pushed to bankrupt. If your product is crazy, Literally consumers will become a fan to your brand and will do whatever for your product's success (Like fans doing things for their film stars)
