Blue Tokai Coffee Roasters was the first company to bring Speciality Coffee to India back in 2013. Two days back - They raised a $35 M Series C. ⏭️Investors include: Verlinest, A91 Partners, 8i Ventures, Deepika Padukone ☕️A few points about BTCR - - High focus on coffee quality, offering roasted & ground coffee through omnichannel distribution: a). Online - Single-serve sachets, value packs, ready-to-drink cold brews b). Offline - Stores in 8 metro cities of India c). Work and source from 660+ coffee producers in the country - Store count is at 130, planning to add 75-80 stores each year - FY 24 was expected to close at ₹250 crores(forecast was for a Q4 maiden profit) - Aiming for IPO in 3-5 years - Offline is working well: 70% revenue comes from stores and 30% online 💡Interestingly - they also expanded to Japan in 2021. Japan does not grow coffee but is the fastest growing market in terms of coffee consumption. ⏭️Highly recommend trying out Bold & Strong (Vienna | Dark Roast)
