Are venture capitalists driving innovation, or do they have too much influence over the startup ecosystem?

VCs play a crucial role in the innovation ecosystem, but their influence has become too dominant. They tend to follow trends, creating funding bubbles in specific sectors (remember the dot-com boom?). This can actually stifle true innovation by funneling too much money into overhyped areas while neglecting others.
