How Costco's Membership-Only Model Works So Costco is the 2nd largest supermarket in the world, operating 870+ stores globally. What's different in Costco is that to shop in their stores, you need to buy their membership (available for $60-$120 annually). And since Costco is getting a healthy amount from customers, they can sell sell their goods at dirt cheap price and still make a profit. Less prices is what attracts customers to shop from them. Thus, Costco got an impressive 25% market share in USA. Last yeat They achieved a $240B in revenue with $8B in profit (compared to Walmart's $16B profit). So Do you think this model will work in India?
