It can work well if it serves local retailers shops i.e local shopkeepers buy from you. If each area has such local branch shopkeepers will come to stock up for their shops. Huge gmv possible

Looks hard to me. but this kind of business is very thrill giving when thinking of implementation

“Metro” is a similar service. People only with their membership card can shop there & the cost of products is usually less. but it’s not profitable till now.

Decathlon started with that, but it was only via corporate tie ups. It fell flat and they had to open up.

Metro is successful in tier 1 and its members only shopping. though it doesn't do much well compared to Dmart because of pricing. if Costco addresses it, they are a hit

there is a difference between the spending patterns of Americans and Indians. So I don't think this model would sustain in the long run

No. It won't work in any of the Asian and European countries. It only works in America coz Americans tends to buy a lot

I've seen the Costco model but the thing is PPL needs to buy in bulk to get discounts on food and fuel

from my pov it can be successful in some tier 1 city but not other indian city because in India most of the people know the jugaad of everything.
