Hello everyone! Day 2 of knowing about businesses that failed in India! CHEVROLET The car brand ranked as the 8th-largest manufacturer globally, faced challenges that eventually led to its exit from the Indian market. They stayed for 14 yrs but decided to leave India, why? Well price wars, competition, and gov policies were key features to leave. The cost of importing a car was very high so they decided to start manufacturing in India which was again costly, the competition of the Indias market was high, and Indians remained loyal with brands which were less costly and effective. Their market strategy also failed, they bought many good products that were made for families but failed to connect with the Indian audience we Indians are usually very emotional and we like connecting with our cars emotionally and they failed there even after being a FAMILY CAR. Moreover, people started looking at that car as just a CAR and thought that it was for people who wanted new experiences. Byeee!
