How a single metric of data saved Duolingo? Back in 2015, Duolingo was struggling to keep users active. The data analysis team divided users into categories such as New User, Current User, Not Active Since a Week, etc and analysed each of them separately. By data analysis, they realized that users who received daily reminders were significantly more likely to return and continue their lessons. Duolingo implemented this and sent users daily reminders. They used A/B testing to optimize the timing and frequency of these reminders. Additionally, they added Streak feature in 2013, which was a great success in keeping users active. This incident shows how important data is for your business if you use it in the right way. Read a book called "Measure what Matters" to learn more. Did you ever used Duolingo?
