This trend reflects the commercialization of art and culture. Cannes is historically a film festival, and seeing influencers use it as a platform for personal gain can be a bit disheartening. Though it seems excessive to me. The influencer world can be quite fickle, and spending so much for a moment in the spotlight might not have long-term benefits.
