Let's talk about IITs. Many people around me say that cracking this exam will lead to success in future. However, we've seen a significant drop in placement percentages this year, while the number of students registering continues to increase, and the number of seats remains constant. Do students at IITs really gain any benefits that ensure success in future? What are your opinions on this?

Some of the IITians opt for the higher studies while some for civil services or some follow their passion instead of working for more than 8 hrs in a corporate. Having a tag of IIT lead the first step easier than the others. As the population increases, competition too increased. Some people have the misconcept regarding the package number. They think it a person get 1cr package then 1cr/12 how much money he/she is earning per month while some for family, society. From the starting, childern are teach that doing engineering going into IIT made their life.

I know plenty of IIT grads who slouched off after getting in and didn't really apply themselves. And plenty of non-IITians who work twice as hard and are more successful. It comes down to the individual.

At this point, I think an IIT degree just gets your foot in the door easier. What you do with the opportunities from there determines your career success or failure.

The skills, network and brand name help, but an IIT stamp isn't a golden ticket like it used to be. The competition is much fiercer now.

I think the IIT brand still carries a lot of weight and prestige, but it's not a guaranteed path to success like some make it out to be. At the end of the day, you have to put in hard work no matter where you study.
