Have heard from multiple people that private colleges in India pay small or mid-sized companies to hire their students. This helps the college show “100% placement” in their brochures. Parents end up paying ₹20L+ in fees, the college passes some of that money to these companies, and most of those students are let go within a year. It's an open secret and most people want this for their placement security. Weird that its so normalised.
