Hey there everyone! I recently stumbled upon an inspiring TEDx talk by Luis Von Ahn, the founder of the popular language-learning app, Duolingo. Did you know that he comes from a humble background in Guatemala and was raised by a single mother? Despite all odds, he excelled academically and even obtained a PhD in Computer Science! He talked about how Duolingo keeps users engaged in learning through their app, despite mobile distractions. So, how do they do it? Well, they use a GAME BASED MODEL that tracks your progress and encourages you to keep up your streak. It's like a fun little game that helps you learn a new language. And, the NOTIFICATION they send out are pretty top-notch too. They have a bit of a passive-aggressive tone, but hey, it works! I highly recommend checking out the talk if you're interested in language learning or just want some motivation to keep going with your projects.
