Any idea on when the ongoing recession/layoff massacre going to end? As a young engineer, these are scary times. Even those in the top institutions are not safe.

There is no recession / layoff massacre going on right now. This is a minor bump on the road. You must be young to feel this way. I think a lot of people are still overpaid. I think a lot of companies still have excess people on the payroll. Things need to be trimmed down a lot from here.
