Long weekend was screwed by a release that was supposed to happen earlier but got delayed. The cons of being in a small startup is not talked about enough. I had to cancel plans and work instead.

I feel you man. Release cycles getting stuck can really be hard to deal with. But if your company is good, they should allow holidays later to compensate for this.
Have you ever been denied an appraisal? How did the discussion go? Was just told that I won't be getting it after working hard all year. Feel betrayed.
