According to TOI, the government has made the decision to release subsidies amounting to over ₹500 crore under the FAME II scheme to Ola Electric, Ather, TVS, and Hero MotoCorp. This comes after the companies agreed to reimburse consumers for the cost of chargers. Previously, the government had suspended subsidies as these firms were billing customers separately for the e-scooters and chargers in order to reduce costs and qualify for the subsidy.
