‘All riders will wear red’: Zomato rolls back green uniform for pure-veg fleet amid social media backlash

Zomato has decided to remove the on-ground segregation of its fleet after facing backlash over its ‘Pure Veg Mode' service. The company had launched the service to cater to customers with a pure vegetarian preference, with a separate fleet wearing green uniforms. However, this move was criticized for promoting caste segregation. Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal announced that all riders would now wear red uniforms, without any on-ground distinction. The decision was made to avoid any negative social repercussions and concerns about discrimination faced by customers in certain societies.
